Privacy notice

What we collect

BalconySolarHub is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We do not run our own analytics, advertising network, or user account system. Specifically:

  • We do not set first-party tracking cookies.
  • We do not run third-party ad networks.
  • We collect an email address only if you type it into the newsletter form on our home page and confirm it. That form has one field — your email — and uses double opt-in: nothing is added to the list until you click a confirmation link we send you. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you. We ask for nothing else, and we do not sell, rent or share the list.
  • Cloudflare Pages, our host, sees the IP address of visitors as part of normal HTTP traffic, as any web host does. We don’t access or store that data.

Cookies, local storage and third-party scripts

We do not set cookies. We checked this on 4 September 2026 by loading our own home page and reading document.cookie: it was empty, and no cookie was set by the server.

Local storage is a different matter, and we would rather say so. The newsletter form is provided by MailerLite, our email service provider. Loading a page that carries the form runs scripts from assets.mailerlite.com, groot.mailerlite.com, static.mailerlite.com and assets.mlcdn.com, and stores one identifier called ml_guid in your browser’s local storage. That identifier is not a cookie, but it persists in the same way, so we treat it the same way in this notice. It is set whether or not you subscribe. Measured on 4 September 2026; MailerLite’s own privacy policy governs what it does with it.

Third-party links you click out to (Amazon UK, news sources) will be governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.

Email contact

If you email us at hello@balconysolarhub.co.uk we receive your email address and the contents of the email. We use it solely to reply. We do not add it to the newsletter list — that only happens if you subscribe through the form yourself. We retain emails for as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry and then delete.

Your UK GDPR rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection in relation to any personal data we hold. To exercise any of these rights, or for any privacy questions, email hello@balconysolarhub.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
